Milkshakes are nutritious and easy to make. Versatile, you can use your favorite fruits. Many people have a milkshake each morning for breakfast and they also make a quick healthy snack. They are a great way to get kids to drink a cool drink packed with fruit, vegetables, vitamins, and calcium all depending on what you mix in them.

Strawberry Apple Milkshake

The great thing about milkshake is, you can be creative and can add your favorite fruit. One of my son’s favorite fruit is Strawberry. Strawberries have one of the lowest sugar contents of any fruit and are full of vitamin C and vitamin K. They also contain significant amounts of phytonutrients and flavonoids both of which are responsible for that beautiful bright red color.

No Sugar Milkshake

I used frozen strawberries in this recipe because they add an ice cream element to the shake. As well as the milk, to add calcium, red apple for sweetness. When it comes to milkshakes, the fruit is typically what makes them sweet and delicious. However, when you combine several types of fruits into a single drink, the natural sugar content can start to add up quickly.

This milkshake is sugar-free and quick and easy to make. Just toss the ingredients in a blender and it’s done.

Ingredients :

For Milkshake:

Frozen sliced strawberries – 2 cups

Red apple – 1 small

Milk – 1 & 1/2 cups

For Garnishing:

Sliced Strawberry – 2

No Sugar Milkshake

Method :

  1. Mix all the above milkshake ingredients with 1/2 cup of milk and blend until smooth.
  2. Now add the remaining 1 cup of milk and blend everything.
  3. Garnish with sliced strawberry.

Strawberry jam is an easy, pectin-free homemade jam recipe. This recipe makes a thick, chunky soft jam that easily spread over pancakes or ice cream or on toasted bread. It is so simple and is a great way to use up a few pounds of strawberries.

Ingredients:
Fresh strawberry – 400 gms (3 cups of chopped strawberry)
Sugar – 3/4 cup
Juice of half lemon

Homemade Strawberry Jam

Method:

  1. Wash and chop strawberry into small pieces. In a heavy bottom, pan add chopped strawberry and sugar.
  2. Cook covered for 10 minutes on low heat.
  3. After 10 minutes cook jam starts to thickens.
  4. Add lemon juice and mix it well and cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Allow jam to cool down completely.
  6. Store Strawberry Jam in a clean and dry glass jar.

Tips :

  • Lift jam with a spatula and pour jam, it should flow together and not in drops.
  • Pour a few drops of prepared jam on a plate if it spreads then it’s not ready if it stays firm without moving then the jam is ready.
  • Allow jam to cool completely. Then store in a clean and dry glass jar.
  • Keep jam in the refrigerator after every use. Use a clean and dry spoon. It last long for 3 months.

I used my super delicious chocolate cake recipe here which is simple and turned it into a wonderful chocolate strawberry cake. What I love about this recipe is everything for the cake is with few ingredients, easy and quick process. It’s always great to have less mess in the kitchen when baking something, isn’t it? I made a super easy chocolate ganache and top-up cake with some fresh strawberries. For this cake, you doesn’t require any professional skills.

Ingredients :

Whole Wheat Flour – 1 & 1/2 cups

Greek yogurt – 1 cup

Brown sugar – 1/2 or 3/4 cup

Cocoa powder – 1/4 cup

Baking Soda – 1/2 tsp

Baking powder – 1 tsp

Refined Oil – 1/4 cup

A pinch of Himalayan pink salt

Chocolate Ganache – Chocolate sprinkles (1/2 cup ), 4 tbsp of milk

Few sliced fresh strawberries

Method :

  1. Dry mixture: Shift whole wheat flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda. Mix salt and keep it aside.
  2. Wet mixture: In a grinder add brown sugar, curd, oil and mix until smooth.
  3. Mix dry mixture into wet mixture.
  4. Put prepared batter into a greased pan.
  5. Tab the pan on a countertop to release any large air bubbles.
  6. Put the pan into the preheated wok and bake it for 1 hour.
  7. When cake is done, allow to cool for 10 minutes. Remove bread from the pan and set them on a rack set over a tray or sheet pan.
  8. Allow cake to cool completely .
  9. Chocolate Ganache – In a bowl add chocolate sprinkles with milk. Microwave high for 2 minutes and its ready.
  10. Spread ganache of cake and garnish with strawberries.
Pressure Cooker Baking with Whole Wheat Flour

Tips:

  1. Adjust sugar according to your taste.
  2. Baking time may vary.
  3. If cake batter looks dry, add 2- 4 tbsp of milk or water.
  4. If baking in Oven: Bake in the preheated oven at 180 deg Celsius or around 360 Fahrenheit for about 60 minutes. The baking time may vary. So keep checking the cake after 40 to 45 minutes.
Healthy Treat

Pressure Cooker Method:
Grease the baking tin with oil and dust it by sprinkling whole wheat flour over greased surface evenly. Pour the mixture into the greased baking tin.

Important Notes:

  • Use the baking tin of 6 inches in diameter, so that it can easily get into the pressure cooker.
  • Use a 5-liter pressure cooker. It should be big enough to hold the baking pan.
  • Baking Tin should be made of Aluminium.
  • If baking tin comes into direct contact with the base of the pressure cooker, it can burn ( overbake ) the cake. So use pressure cooker container which has big holes in it or any aluminum small stand.
  • No gasket and whistle are needed. Remove them before baking.
  • Don’t add water to the pressure cooker.

How to Bake In A Pressure Cooker?

  1. Heat the pressure cooker on high heat for 8 minutes. Use sea salt or sand as a layer inside a cooker. Put a steel stand on a layer of salt or sand.
  2. Now put the cake tin containing the cake batter ( Do not put water inside the pressure cooker).
  3. Close the pressure cooker lid and do not put the whistle on the lid. Remove the gasket (rubber ring) from the lid.
  4. Lower the flame after 8 minutes. Let it bake for 50 -60 minutes on low flame. After 60 minutes check cake with a knife, if the mixture does not stick, it means the cake is done.
  5. If batter still sticks to knife then again bake for another 10 minutes. Do not open the lid immediately.
  6. Eggless Pressure Cooker Cake is ready.
